Is FACEBOOK taking your Sabbath time away?

Have you heard of this? I only read about this in the STAR PAPER last Friday. STAR had a few article regarding this issue.

Am I an addict? That was my first thought when I read the article.

So, I decided to research a little on what the world would regard a Facebook addict.

FAD or known as Facebook Addiction Disorder is a condition that is defined by HOURS spent on Facebook. They spent so much time that affect the individual's lifestyle - an American psychologist -

APPROXIMATELY 350 million people SUFFER from this disorder. This can be detected by simple six criteria. The victims usually possessed 2-3 following criteria in a period of 6-8 month.

Tolerance: This term is used to describe the desperate behavior of a Facebook addict. They spend an increasing amount of time on the site, coming to a stage where they need it in order to obtain satisfaction or on the other extreme, it is having a detrimental affect on them as a person and their life. For the family members and friends who think they are dealing with an addict, a sign to look out for are multiple Facebook windows open. Three or more confirms that they are indeed suffering from this condition.

2. Withdrawal symptoms: These become obvious when one is restricted from using Facebook because they have to participate in normal everyday activities. Common signs are anxiety, distress and the need to talk about Facebook and what might have been posted on their wall in their absence.

3. Reduction of normal social/recreational activities: Someone suffering from FAD will reduce the time spent catching up with friends, playing sport or whatever it is they used to enjoy doing, to simply spend time on Facebook. Instead of catching up with a friend for coffee, they will send a Facebook message. A dinner date will be substituted with a messenger chat. In extreme cases, the person will even stop answering their parent’s phone calls, instead insisting that they use Facebook to contact them.

4.Virtual dates: It is obvious that things are extreme when real dates are replaced with virtual dates. Instead of going to the movies or out to dinner, they tell their partner to be online at a certain time.

5.Fake friends: If 8 out of 10 people shown on their Facebook page are complete strangers, it is undeniable: they have a serious case of FAD.

6.Complete addiction: When they meet new people, they say their name, followed by “I’ll talk to you on Facebook”, or for those who are extremely bad, “I’ll see you in Facebook”. Their pets have Facebook pages, and any notifications, wall posts, inboxes or friend requests that they receive give them a high, one which can be compared to that gambling addicts get from the pokies or roulette table.

Many ones are spending TOO MUCH time online. Don't get me wrong. Facebook do have its benefits. But, too much of Facebook may lead to a detrimental effects to the person's life.

So, CHECK yourself!

The key is to be BALANCE!

P/s: Facebook won't loose out the minute you don't showed up online.

Take off time from Facebook and spend your time wisely with God, family and friends.

STOP and change your pattern in your daily activities!

During the week, I learned to set boundaries for myself to just take time off, stop and reflect on what had been happening throughout the day. Though there are many things to be done, I learned to STOP and thanked God for what He had blessed me throughout the day and prayed that He will continue to give me strength to go on for the rest of the day. A good 30 minutes of STOP and pondering of what had happened throughout the day will give our body rest and feeling refreshed entirely! - this is the Sabbath attitude we ought to achieve.

My Sabbath day is on a Sunday, I set it aside to worship Him in church in the morning and in the evening to spend it with my family: catching up with them of what had happened throughout the week. Also, I try not to log on to the Internet. Just rest and relax!!

God had made this special day for you. Don't waste it by doing things that keep you busy or looking at your Facebook page the whole day browsing onto someone else profiles. There is more to life than just sitting in front of your laptop/computer screen. Do a different thing and keep to it throughout the year.

My advice is to TRY. You won't regret it! :)

When I rest in Sabbath..

I’ve been reading a chapter regarding Sabbath. I’ve taken my time to think and meditate. There is more to Sabbath than it being a day we rest and go church.

Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the Lord your God has commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a day of Sabbath to the Lord your God

-Exodus 20:8-9-

This special day God had made it SPECIALLY for us. KHAS UNTUK ANAKNYA. God knows that all of us need more than one “special day” in our lives, so He established the idea of cyclical special day called the Sabbath.

Last week, I’ve been running and about for traffic jams, briefings, going to campus and working at home. Till the 6^th day (Saturday), I found myself looking forward to Sabbath. I was looking for a change of pace in life. The busyness that I got myself into had made me physically and mentally tired and spiritually drained. When Sabbath came, I could feel myself refreshed. Like a new spring of water poured into my life.

Another is God want us to know that He is in control of all things. There are so many things that happened in our life which I want to take control of. When God says, “Shabbat! (Sabbath)” He is saying “Stop and remember that I am God and you are not.”

God is calling us to do something different from our six days of life and to set aside a holy day for Him. It is good to work and be productive throughout the week. And, it is also good to STOP and do something different. Drawing, singing and anything you enjoy.

When I remove myself from my normal attachments, I open my inner life that is in CHAOS. Here, I release any chaotic attitude (selfishness, greed, jealousy, etc) and just to ask for His assurance that I will be okay when I let go.

Listen to your voice as you say this out loud

The Lord said [to Elijah], “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.

God speaks with a GENTLE VOICE, and not a LOUD thundering one.

Henri Nouwen wrote, “To bring some solitude into our lives is one of the most necessary but also the most difficult disciplines……As soon as we are alone, without people to talk with, books to read, TV to watch, or phone calls to make, an inner chaos opens up to us.”

I am overjoyed today! Finally, I am able to fit in my pants which I never get to wear since mum bought for me.

How I did it? Haha..Trying to scan back in time to see what were the ways I took to loose the extra weight.

---------Ate lesser carbohydrates. Eg. Rice and bread. (p/s: these are happy food to me!)

- ---------Drink lesser sugar and carbonated drinks. (my happy food too)

- ---------I LOVE SWEET MUNCHIES!! Recently, I try not to eat sweets or chocolate so much. I even try not to indulge in cookies.

- ----------Lessen the taking of coffee and teh tarik!

- ----------When I was working with my professor, my friends and I had to trek into forest and caves and also carry heavy equipment such as harp trap (a trap to catch bats). We have to carry this heavy harp trap up staircases to go into caves! Well, that’s training for all of us. All of us had loose weight also. Benefit from this, it was work out for all of us!

- ----------Now that I start work, I want to get back on my regime of workout! But, till now I still couldn’t find the time to go and u know EXERCISE! This morning I was got to go and walk with my dog! It’s was a refreshing and sweaty. Haha..

- ----------Since I drive to work, I always choose to park my car across the field. So, when I reach office I get to walk at least 100 meters to office. Since my office is on the 3^rd floor, I get to walk up the staircases. At least that is the little moving I get to do!

- -----------My friend Joy recently introduced me to Zumba! I want to try it out! Different activities to make exercise FUN!

EXERCISING is good for the health. I think many of us know that. Even as I drive to work everyday, Red FM will always remind its listeners to WORK OUT! Get out of the chair and go out to get some fresh air!

Get OUT and Get the FREE FRESH air (if you stay in the city, probably not so much fresh air, but at least you get to SWEAT it out!). Go to the PARK, LAKE, HILL and enjoy the nature!

Benefit? It only benefit your body, soul and mind! I once heard the saying when you spend time with green plants, it will increase your creativity!

Ask and RECEIVE!!

“I bless you.” “God bless you.” “May you be blessed!” “God, please bless the food that I am going to eat.” We even say this when our friends sneeze!

We say this all the time. No wonder the meaning of “BLESSING” gets watered down like “have a nice day”

And no wonder we are NOT desperate for blessings from GOD!

In Biblical sense, to bless is to ask for or to impart supernatural favor.

When we ask for God’s blessing, we are not asking for more of what we could get for ourselves. We are crying out for the wonderful, unlimited goodness that only God has the power to know about or to give to us.

There is a guy in the Bible who radically asked God for BLESSINGS: It is JABEZ!

Have you heard of Jabez’s prayer?

Oh, that You would bless me indeed,

And enlarge my territory,

That Your hand would be with me,

And that You would keep me from evil.

Jabez requested for God’s blessings. He did something RADICAL! He left it entirely up to God to decide what kind of blessings would be and where, when and how Jabez would receive them.

I for one always have in mind what kind of blessings I would want to receive from God. Grant answers to my prayers! LORD, please say YES to my prayers! As I examined myself again, I realized that the blessings God want to grant me is to glorify myself. Not to glorify HIM!

Today I stand here corrected by GOD: the challenge I take is to leave entirely up to God to decide what kind of blessings it would be for my life!

There is a short story I would love to SHARE with you all:

Mr. Jones Goes to Heaven

What if you found that God had it in mind to send you 23 specific blessings today, but you get only one? What do you suppose the reason would be?

There’s a little fable about Mr. Jones who died and goes to heaven. Peter is waiting at the gates to give him a tour. Amid the splendor of golden streets, beautiful mansions and choirs of angels that Peter shows Mr. Jones. He notices an odd-looking building. He thinks it looks like an enormous warehouse – it has no windows and only one door. But when he asks to see inside, Peter hesitates. “You really don’t want to see what’s in there.”

Why would there be any secrets in heaven? Jones wonders. What incredible surprise could be waiting for me in there? When the official tour is over, Jones still wonders, so he asks again to see inside the building.

Finally Peter agrees. When Peter opens the door, Jones dashed inside and almost knocks Peter over. It is an enormous building that is filled with row and row of shelves, neatly with white box tied in red ribbons.

“These boxes all have names on them,” Mr. Jones muses aloud. Then turning to Peter he asks, “Do I have one?” Peter answer “Yes, you do.” Peter tries to guide Mr. Jones outside. Peter said, “Frankly, if I were you…..” But Mr. Jones is already dashing down the ‘J’ aisle to find his box. Peter follows, shaking his head. He catches up with Mr. Jones just as he is slipping the red ribbon off his box and popping the lid. Looking inside, Jones has a moment of instant recognition and lets out a deep sigh like the ones Peter had heard of so many times before.

Because there in the Mr. Jones white box are all the BLESSINGS that God wanted to give to him while he is on Earth… but Mr. Jones never asked!

Matt 7:7 Ask and it shall be given to you.

What is in a NAME?

Hi, I'm A. What's your name? :)

All of us have an identity through our names. That is how we first introduce ourselves to new people that we meet. Our names were given by our parents. Many parents have hope that one day we would live up to our names. They choose great names that we may live in the future to the meaning of our name. That's our parents hope for us.

A name is more than a label. More than just a title. But is something we can call our own; the treasures our parents had left for us to live by. A name tells more than just a statement but an interesting story of life.

In Biblical times, a man and his name were so intimately related that 'to cut off the name' of an individual amounted to the same thing as killing him. A name was often taken as a wish for or prophecy about the child's future.

For example, Solomon means peace. He was the first KING of Israel to reign without having to go to war. When I remember Solomon, his name was more than peace. He made a difference! He was the first to set the record of being KING without war involved.

My name is Caroline, which means womanly, given by my grandma. Sometimes, many friends of mine called me Carol, which means joy. My parents gave a beautiful Chinese name; Wei Jun. Wei means 'en hui': grace. Jun means king. My grandma and parents gave me the most priceless give: my name.

To live out my name is something I am practicing out everyday. It's definitely not easy. But, with His grace I pray I can do so. I don't want to leave behind a name without a story. I want to live out my name with an interesting story in it.

Lonely

Have you ever feel alone walking on this road? There is no one that can understand what you are going through.

I am here to tell you, “ YOU ARE NOT ALONE, MY FRIEND."

What you have been through, there is another person out there who had also go through the same thing as you.

Besides, there is ALWAYS someone who is just there to wait for you to talk to Him. He is God. He understands and He knows.

What can we do when we feel lonely?

Be still and know He is God.Sometimes we just need to be still. Don’t worry. Don’t over-think a situation. Just calm your heart and know He had it all in control

· Remember you are not alone.

The phase you are going through will not last. Be courageous my friend!

· Give THANKS!!

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, because we look not at the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen.

You must think I am crazy to urge you to give thanks at times of loneliness and feeling down. When we give thanks especially in moments like this, our attitude will change from negative to positive. We will start looking at this moment in a new light and with a different perspective.

God had allowed you to go through this phase in order for you to learn something out of it. Take this lesson at heart that the Lord is disciplining you as a father disciplines his son/daughter. Be thankful, my friend.

· Refuse self-pity!

SELF-PITY: self-indulgent attitude concerning one's own difficulties. (Dictionary.com)

The definition of the word says it all; indulging in your own difficulties. It’s not good for the soul. REFUSE IT!

· Accept your loneliness

It’s one stage and only one STAGE! It will not last forever. It’s a journey to bring you closer to God.

· Offer your loneliness to God. It’s a material for sacrifice. This very longing can be offered up to Him who understands PERFECTLY.

We need to ‘die’ to self in order to live. Just like a seed that falls on dark earth and dies. Out of its death comes multiplied life.

· Do something for somebody else

Be an instrument of God’s peace, that where there is loneliness you may bring joy.

We all have choices to deal with this.

a) Rebellion: if this is the will of God for me now, He doesn’t love me.

b) Rejection: If this is what God is giving me, I won’t have any part of it.

c) Faith: God knows exactly what He’s doing.

d) Acceptance: He loves me. He plan good things for me; I’ll take it.

I had chosen choice c) and d). I pray you will do so too. :D

Transparent

When I think of the word transparent what comes in my mind? ‘See through completely’. So, it’s like you can see beyond my flesh and bones and organs altogether. Imagine! I can see you but you can’t see me. :D That would be freaky!

Being transparent in a relationship gives us REAL fellowship with one another and also with God.

The way we relate to people, we also relate to God. First and foremost, we need to be TOTALLY TRANSPARENT before Him. He knows EVERYTHING. He knows the good and the bad experience we had. There is nothing we can hide from Him.

Let me tell you this, it is not an easy process to be transparent before God. The moment I knew that He knows it all, my mind wondered and thought whether will He ever forgive me? Usually it’s the bad experience I would want to HIDE. But, God is a gracious God. He forgives! No matter how big and bad the sin is He still will with arms open wide receives me as His child. His amazing grace that I never once deserve He freely gives to me. This grace had given me a FRESH brand new START.

Being transparent with God will lead to being transparent with the people around us. I had enjoyed true fellowship with people around me. I thanked God for that.

It takes so much energy to hide my real self with people. It’s tiring! Why not we convey the energy to just be truthful and transparent to people around us? It is relaxing to do so and we gain so much more from the relationship we have with people. Result we will be HAPPY PEOPLE! :D

It takes practice and courage to be transparent at first. Slowly it will be a lifestyle. Take courage my friend! Take the giant step to be transparent about your thoughts with God. (God is not scared of you being transparent and honest)

Spurgeon once defined the basis of fellowship is the willingness to know and to be known.

have a little faith

Many of us today may be lacking of faith. We tend to lean on our own logic and capabilities to do works, even in trusting another person. We may judge a person based on his/her past and loose faith in the person right after. Mitch Albom had written a true story based on his own life testimony.

I think it was not easy for him to write it all and placed it transparent for the whole world to know about his life. All of us may sometimes even be shy with the testimony we shared with our loved ones, what more the world.

Perfect: entirely without flaws, defects or shortcomings.

When it comes to my material stuffs, I always wanted it to be flawless and perfect. I cannot accept a tiny small bits of imperfection at all. If I can, I want all my MATERIAL items to be PERFECT as long as I lived.

That is a wish I may not be able to achieve in my life. Materials do not last forever.

In this few recent months, I have dropped my 2 months old phone for a total of four times. I had became paranoid when my smartphone starts to lag. Even more paranoid when my phone off by itself all of the sudden. Because of the lagging of my phone, I had stayed up till wee hours in the morning searching on the internet to find the cause of the lagging. I even asked my friend who owns the same phone as me whether he had the same problem with his phone. My mind kept thinking will my phone spoil.. will my phone spoil??? So, all of this had added to my anxiety.

With all this worries and anxiety, my friend reminded me that the materials God had given to us we should govern it with a steward's heart. All that had happened to my phone, I should not worry rather allow this to be a lesson for me. Let me learn to govern the materials God had given me with a steward's heart.

I am grateful for all the things God had given me. In return, I should be a steward to take care of the materials He had given.

However, I should also be careful on where I laid my interests in. How much time am I spending in the materials God had given and how much time am I spending for Him. Sometimes, I fall lope-sided to either one extreme without even knowing it.

So, it is best to always self-check and reflect my day I had lived through.

Materials will pass. Materials will fade. Where are you and I investing our interests at today? Are we being stewards of our materials given by God?

The LORD is my Sherpherd

A Psalm of David

1 The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want

(LORD here represent the same true GOD that we see in the early of the OT in the Bible. He is my shepherd. Shepherd is someone who watches and guides you. 'I shall not want': I have never ask God to be my guardian but He chose to)

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures

(MAKES..He chose the best for me. Green pastures: a place of comfort, a place of relaxation, a place of beauty and also a place where you learn to overcome your difficulties and troubles. Who say green pastures do not have stones or pebbles hiding in between those greenary)

3 He restores my soul. He leads me in path of righteousness for his name's sake

(He always gives new hope and joy to my soul. He never choose to forsake me when I walked the wrong path and sinned. He took the extra mile to guide me back to path that is right. Like a parent, He will always want the BEST He can give to His children. In return, we as children will bring glory to His name.)

4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me

(I will not be afraid when I walked through painful and tragic moments in my life. For I know, You have lead me there and You are by my side at all times. Your presence and warmth comfort me from within)

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever

(All the days of my life, be it in good or bad times His goodness and mercy shall follow me forever wherever I am. I will dwell in His house; not just a physical house but His presence for as long as I live)

I saw this picture of this soldier in Iraq who had written this passage on his helmet. Imagining his life as he goes to war, his life may be the extreme of what we go through in our normal daily life.

We go to 'war' also as we face our everyday challenges, from studies, work, family and personal struggles. Rather than just focusing on the STRUGGLES we go through everyday lets give it GOD and let Him be the pilot of our life. We may take so much energy to steer our life to the right direction but GOD just want us to surrender and allow Him to guide us.

The WORD of the LORD had spoken and tells us to put our life in HIS hands.

Stop being a control freak and let Him be our PILOT!

Decisions, decisions... Finding the will of God in a complex world

Lawrence and Diana Osborn

Another good book to read especially when you are in a situation of deciding what would you want to do in the future.

How do we find the will of God in this complex world? How our decisions affect others especially our loved ones? How do we know that is what God had called us to do? What is required of us?

After reading and digesting the perspectives of Lawrence and Diana Osborn, I find that our Lord is like a shepherd who actively looks after us in every decision we make. How do we know that? First of all, we must know Him personally through prayer and reading of His words. He is always faithful in leading and guiding His people in the Old Testaments as we read. Even in the New Testament, He continually affirmed His people to continue to walk with Him by following Jesus’ examples. God gives and respects our freedom in our decision (He does not point a gun to our head and tell us to do what He tells us to do).

We also ought to listen expectantly. Reading the Bible daily also allows God to speak to us. We do not pray and open the Bible randomly and read a verse. Then, conclude that God wants us to go into ministry. It is a process. As you read daily, God would speaks through the words and allow you to response towards it.

In every decision making, it is important to KNOW YOURSELF: your passion and your gifts. We are all gifted in different areas so that is also why we are all called to do different works in this world. Everyone is unique in their own ways.

We must also fill ourselves with information. Being informed is more than just listening passively but it is to avail ourselves with information that can be obtained from media. I would like to highlight that “THE NEED IS NOT A CALL”. There are a lot of needs around, but there is only so much we can do. We can take the need into consideration to our decision-making.

Personal advices from people who know you are very important as they see different ability that we often overlook ourselves. Remember to keep your people who you asked small in numbers. Advices from family, friends and spiritual leaders are valuable in our decision-making. Prayerful decision is time-consuming. Yet, in our society time is scarce. On top of it all, we must allow God to intervene and influenced our decision-making.

Decision-making is a very personal matter, not mechanical. So, we must give time to let it sink into our mind. Seeking God’s will is like giving birth to dream, IT TAKES TIME! Being silent gives space for us to listen to what God is SPEAKING to us.

To confirm one’s decision, always remember NO SECOND BEST. Always gives God the BEST in everything that we do as an individual. I should not only look at material blessings. Instead, as I lived out the decision that was made, how I have grown as a Christian. Moreover, being at PEACE with the decision that was made is important. Peace plays a significant part in the process of seeking God’s will.

In our decisions, our attitudes should be a beloved child rather than an anxious servant.

One mark of a good dancer who dances to God’s will is precisely a capacity to response creatively to the music. So it is with God’s will: what God expects of us is not blind obedience but the kind of voluntary self-abondonment that creatively interprets the tune he is playing.

Are we missing the point today?

With all the big commotion about the church raid in Damansara Utama Methodist Centre (DUMC), are we missing the real point beneath all of this?

Are we disillusioned with all that is put out in the media for us to read and updated?

Remember the one Malay lady who stood up and testify that she seeks help from the government but she gained none. So, she went to DUMC which has a foundation for single mothers. She GAINED help for her family.

As a single mother living in today's world, it is not an easy task. The people in DUMC has showed that we can help people who are in need and helpless. They gave help when they saw a need.

So, we ought to learn that we should come together as ONE to help who are in need. Do we need to see who is converting who. Isn't saving a life more important than all of the others?

Take time to think. Who are we fighting for? What are we doing? What we ought to do actually?

We are all taught to help each other regardless of our own faith. Let's go back to the basic.

Circumstances did not stop him

Have you heard of Ludwig van Beethoven? He was gifted in playing the piano at a very young age. When his alcoholic dad knew of this gift, he knew that Beethoven can be his money source. Thus, he is force to be a SLAVE to his piano. He did not enjoy a memorable childhood like many of us do. His mom was also bound to work. The greatest encouragement his mom gave Beethoven: “Be strong, my son. Be strong. Some day you will be great.”

Then, at young age Beethoven compositions were not received well by the high-class society, even though he had received a lot of praises and applauses.

Besides, Beethoven also suffered from losing his hearing. Beethoven first began to lose his hearing at his twenties. At 40, he was totally deaf. He declared “I will grapple with faith, it shall never drag me down.” When he no longer could play for the public, he focused his total energy in composing music.

Illness-near constant gout and growing rheumatism too have taken a toll on his health. He continued to say “Courage…my spirit shall rule."

In all, he had composed 9 symphonies, 32 piano sonates, 5piano concertos, 10 sonates for the piano and violin, a series of string quartets, vocal music, theater music, and much more. All his compositions had greatly influenced later composers such as Brahms, Wagner, Schubert and Tchaikovasky.

Near death, he knew that the world had not understand him or his music, but with a happy smile on his face, he whispered, “I shall hear in Heaven.”

How great is this man. He indeed did leave a legacy behind. I am amazed that though there were many hurdles that were laid in front him still he strived on and continued to express his God-given talent. He had learned to be happy and grateful in whatever situation he was in. Such a great lesson we can learn here.

Be thankful and content in whatever state we are in.

Called and Obedience

All of us may be called but how many of us obey? The latter is the harder step.

This may also be another reason why many are not happy with what they are currently doing in life. Some may say the other person has a better life than me because he/she is living with higher expanses in a bigger house and eating nicer food.

I say when you honor God, He will honor you. When He call you, are you going to obey? Because He will satisfy your soul and every need.

I remembered that my dad told me how he was prompted to open an aquarium shop after his pencen year. He shared that God had prompted him to do so. The journey to open the shop at the beginning was not easy. His fish died, my siblings and I were still young and he had no help from anyone. But, God was faithful. God had brought kind souls into my parents’ life to teach them how to run the business though at hard times. They learned through their mistakes and successes. It was also through this shop, my siblings and I had learned the hardships of my parents. Their hardships had provided comfort, shelter, food and love for each of us.

The other story was about my mum. My mum has a learner heart. She is willing to learn anything that was given to her. That was her strength. So, God has used that skill of hers and taught her to give BM tuition although she is Singaporean who does not speak the language (She was learning the language at the same time), sell tupperwares, drive a car, raised three kids and many more. Her willingness to learn had allowed our faithful God to continue to entrust her with many things.

Indeed, my parents' need had been fulfilled. God continue to shower manifold blessings onto their life. Yes, they worked hard for it. When God entrusted you with something, God also hopes that you work hard in it. One thing is that my parents’ obedience towards God’s calling truly had inspired me.

When we are willing to be use by God, He will use us to show His love and faithfulness in our lives.

DIFFERENT PEOPLE DIFFERENT ROUTE

As two air-conditioned men came and fixed my brother’s shop air-conditioner, I thought to myself how diverse and how different everyone jobs were. They skillfully fixed the air-conditioner in a jiffy. Then, as I looked around and fixed my eyes on the mamak store. There were so many skillful people and all from different walk of life sitting down and sipping hot drink or having a cold drink. Then, I wondered if ever there was no one that had decided to take this path to open a mamak store. Then, there will be no mamak at all.

Then, if ever everyone were to decide to be a doctor, then there would not be public servants who willingly throw and clean the rubbish we throw (we should be grateful for them). It’s like a body. If all our body were eyes, then we would not function well or even look like human.

Every job a person does give equilibrium in the society; from cleaning the sewage to public transportation and also to white collar working society. Every job has its own importance.

I wondered how they knew that the job was something they would want to do. There must be a master plan behind all this. How in the end we are interlinked with each other and helping each other subconsciously. I know it is God who is the master plan. He had planned it all along. He is far more a genius than we are. His ways are higher than our ways.

We are all skilled differently. We all have different strengths and also different weaknesses. The skills that we possessed are all God-given. This is the reason that all of us may be called to different walks in life.

Boast in the LORD!

Meaningful busy journey

As I print my dissertation, I felt a great sense of relieve that it is all over. I have finished one year worth of coursework on Conservation Biology. It is very worth it. The things that I had learnt and the people I had journeyed with throughout this one year.

As I combined my three years of zoology and one year of conservation biology, I have learned so much from the biology area both the lab and also the fieldwork. The experiences that I gained from both are priceless. I thanked God that He had given me the opportunity to learn what I have all along be passionate about (tell you truth, I didn’t do very well for biology during my schooling years). However, by His grace, He has given me this opportunity to discover beauty and wondrous of His creations.

I thanked my family for their support in my decision and walk in life. They always provide the best for me. I thanked God that He has placed me in this family that He had weaved together. All of us in the family may be different in perspectives, attitudes, and even our personal strengths and weaknesses, but all of us know very well Who had created and love us at first sight and thought. We love our beloved CREATOR. Even for my family itself, we had gone through different journeys of discovering what He wants us to do. I thanked God for the journeys that He had brought all of through. He is ever faithful in our life.

As I finished and accomplished my university years, I thanked God for the great journey; how He is willing to be my fisherman. There were ups and downs during my university years too. Through it all, I have grown to be a matured and responsible person in every work I am entrusted to. Truth to be told, I wasn’t a good worker all the time. There are times where I just don’t feel like doing it at all. :) Thank God for encouraging friends which were always watchful and helpful especially in times like that (You may never expect them to realize it but God gave them good six sense to know or maybe I was expressive with my actions haha..)

This part of life was indeed a busy and meaningful one. Busy : my eyes bags and dark circles can tell you how have it been. Meaningful: the experiences, the journey, the talks, the time shared together, laughter and jokes. I am truly thankful for all that God had given. :)

Definitely looking forward another great journey :)

Are we listening today?

One day, I was talking to an aunty; asking how was she lately? She said well I’m fine. Day in and day out, I wake up and then eat, work a bit then sleep. Nothing great happened in my life. Then it dawn to me wow!! I wouldn’t want to live a life like that. I wouldn’t want my life to be so stagnant.

When I heard a conversation between an elderly aunty who is in her 60s with a 24 year old lady (not me :P), she was saying how the young lady has to choose a right man to tie the knot soon. Then, she will have kids, then grandsons, then the next generation. The cycle goes on.

Then, I thought to myself, it’s that all in life to hope for? The growing up process which is in baby years, then schooling years, then varsity years, working years then marriage, then kids and before you know it, it would be your golden years. It’s that it?

I love what my mum told me in person: as God leads, you obey (paraphrasing). A pastor also said this: Parents, the life of your children is not for you to determine but it is God who determine. God must always be the priority of their life.

So, I know a lot must ask how do we know it is Him who tell us what to do. J I am currently reading a book ‘DECISIONS, DECISIONS..’ by Lawrence and Diana Osborn. They also addressed the same question: How do we know is GOD? Well, easy. Just like how we recognize our mum and dad’s voice from afar. Without even looking at them, we know very well it is them who are calling us. This recognition had come with a lot of years of training. Thus, are we close enough with God to recognize what He is telling us? It can come from many sources. God is LIMITLESS when He speaks. He can tell us from the materials we are reading, the exposure, the people who are close to us, and most of all the BIBLE. Are we sensitive enough to listen and obey?

With today everything around us are buzzing to keep us to our feet. There is barely enough time for us to sit and listen. God is our friend who is always willing to sit and listen. But, how many of us are HIS good friend who listen to what He has to say. Are we willing to obey to what He has told us?

Be His friend today.

Cleaner country

Today the story of the Malaysian community coming together as one was created. Many Malaysian from all over the world has marched in their own ways: through prayers, network, physically and emotionally.

BERSIH 2.0 is an non-governmental organization which had proposed CLEAN and FAIR elections.

Bersih 2.0′s calls consist of 8 points. In summary, they are:
1. Clean the electoral roll
2. Reform postal ballot
3. Use of indelible ink
4. Minimum 21 days campaign period
5. Free and fair access to media
6. Strengthen public institutions
7. Stop corruption
8. Stop dirty politics

Many people would have a lot of says about this country's politics. In mamak, restaurant, anywhere, people would have a say about this country. However, today on the 9th July 2011 we had seen otherwise. Many Malaysian had raised up to learn to take a stand for their own country. This country was meant to be a democratic country. A country which allows opinions of the people.

The process of reaching to 9th July 2011 was difficult. Many news that was post up was heartbreaking. Although many obstacles had been placed throughout this journey, many people had come together to stand united in prayer or physically.

Kudos to BERSIH 2.0 team which had caused people to rise up to stand on what it meant for a CLEAN AND FAIR elections.

May we as WATCHMEN continue to pray for Malaysia. A big change is going to happen in this country. People from every generations: youngsters to young adults to adults and including the older folks: be ready!! We have to be equipped and ready. The hardworks that were poured out may one day be rewarded.

As I am writing my thesis, all that I know now is because someone had said so. The person may just be like me once upon his/her life discovering new things. Then, the person decided to write and published in journals for the good of mankind. However, there are so much more things that is yet to be discover. This world is still so full with mystery and more things that are yet to discover. Even for bats ecology (as I am studying about bats now), there are so many minute details that we might not know about bats.

But there is one thing that had been the same since last 2000 years ago. You know what that is; it’s the BIBLE. It is a useful tool that had been the same since last 2000 years. Many had used it for guidance, stories, wisdom, songs and even for poem and much more. The information in the BIBLE is never dead. It is not only a book. It’s called a life book. It speaks and guides you as you live. Many had testified how the Bible is a handy tool. It takes a lifetime to know the BIBLE.

The world that God had created is so beautifully diverse with creatures and wonders. Psalm 24:1-2 the earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for He founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters. But, all this will passed on one day, but His words remains.

Passion and Purity

Passion and Purity is a good read. It's about how you would submit your all to God and leave everything in His hands. That doesn't mean that we could not make a choice on our own. It's all about putting Him first in all that you do. Elisabeth had shared how she and her husband (Elliot) before they were together learn to put God first in their life and what He had urged them to do before their desires. I am amazed how God had actually made their path met and eventually fulfill the desires of their hearts. Also, they were faithful in walking and trusting God. Both of them were like any teenagers who had passion for love. They were different. Instead, of following what the world is doing for love they stood out differently and describe love in way that respect the opposite individual. The relationship they had with each other is so beautiful. When you placed God first, even in your relationship with a dear one, your relationship will blossom.

This book is not only for couples. It's for EVERYONE who is interested to know the perspectives that Elisabeth had on relationship and how to put in under God's governance.

GADOH!!! had anyone heard of Gadoh before? It is a movie that tells a story of a group of teenagers that could not see eye-to-eye with each other. Due to their racial line: a cycle of hatred is formed and violence that is escalated by their environment and school system.

So, if you have not watch it, go watch it! have a peep!

For myself, I am formerly from a Sek. Kebangsaan. I had faced this racial issues ever since I started school at the age of 7 years old. I still remember clearly when I was 10 years old, I had a 'debate' with my Malay guy friend. He told me to go back CHINA and I was a PENDATANG and all. I told him back at his face, I am A MALAYSIAN la..Born here and lived here. NOT FROM CHINA. There weren't any physical violence because I was a girl.

But, after that we became friends till up to secondary school. :D haha.. The point is it does happen in school. Even kids as young as 10 years old could uttered such words. It all come from where we are raised-our home. Our parents that were also taught by their parents. So, we could not blame our parents for such racial issues. Instead of playing the blaming game.We could start by examining ourselves and deal with our racial issues. The change is not immediate but it does need to start somewhere. :D It starts with you and me.

Family reunion-foods-joy-laughter-eat till stomach is full-what a great week

The Lunar Year is celebrated by all the Chinese in Malaysia. Now, with the concept of 1 Malaysia, everyone regardless of races celebrate the new year by visiting families back in kampung or in the city. Family reunion dinner is the most important where everyone will go back home and have a feast together with the family.

We worked in the morning in the shop and closed early in the noon. Then, we went back home to prepare dinner. :D My father's customers will always asked for the same thing : 'Ada limau ke?' Never ending questions. Then, we will always say, 'belum celebrate lagi..next week k'. :D

This year, we received 3 hampers and quite a number of boxes of mandarin oranges. All were given by my parents and brother's suppliers. :D So, we actually saved up a bit and no need to get mandarin oranges for all the customers. My mum, sister-in-law, my nephew and I had a fun time opening all the hampers. :D This year my brother became the chef of the house with the help of my sister and mum. I was playing with my little nephew. hehe.. But, I have began to developed interests for cooking. Due to my laziness, I still rarely cook.

The foods looks good right? Thinking back of all the dishes and looking at the photos, I am already salivating. haha. It was definitely a prosperous new year to feed the stomach. :D A year like this made me put on weight just within 1 week. :D haha..This comes with a package of laughter and joy shared together.

During the first day of new year, we travelled back to Singapore to visit the extended family on my mummy's side. :D We had lots of joy and laughters. AND A WHOLE LOT OF GOOD FOODS!! :D Grandma's cooking. :D We eat and eat and eat before our food can be digested.. :D Spending time with my grandma and relatives is the best angpow I can ever received.

BATS

well since I couldn't search info from e-journal from UKM, I might as well share a little about my bat.

This cute creature of mine is found in limestone complex of Gunung Senyum, Pahang. There are approximately 20 caves in Gunung Senyum.

I am doing my research at this particular cave called Gua Gudang Kelawar. We have to track to oil palm estate and low land forest to the cave. It is an interesting trip to go in. :D

There are 2 caves in this particular space. The front cave is called Gua Piala and as you track in a little more into the cave, and there is another cave called Gua Gudang Kelawar. So, by the name of the cave you would know the whole cave is filled with bats!

I present you Miniopterus schreibersii.

This is my little creature. :D

They are common insectivorous bats that feeds on insects. Besides that, they eat up about 3000 insects. They are cave-dwellers. They roost (which means stay for bats) in the cave in clusters. They would occupy the whole ceiling of the cave and roost very near to each other.

So it would look something like this. Just that this one had been disturbed by us. So, most of them will fly around the cave and echolocating too. Take this picture and times 7 folds. Now, you know how many of them in the caves.

It is fairly easy to catch this bats, as the structure of the cave is fairly low. Once the bats are disrupted they would fly around my friend and I. We will attempt to catch them with hand nets. :D Few sweeps with the hand nets on air allows us to catch about 20 of them at one time. :D Amazing huh? They are very tiny, and have tiny little mouth and teeth. One good thing is I do not need to worry of getting bitten by any of them as they are so small. :D

These small creatures have an extremaly large ectoparasite or in other words KUTU. haha..But, no worries. The fleas are bat specific. So, I wouldn't get any fleas after going for field trips. Thank God!

New Year with New expectations with GOD

I would say the year 2010 has been a great year. :D Closing the chapters with God was something I had hoped for. God has been great throughout the whole year of 2010. He has truly showed me the meaning of being with Him. He taught me to lean on Him and always have hope in Him. He allows me to choose and make choices in my life. However, He first and foremost know in His heart which road I would take even before I chose it. He knew me better than I know myself entirely.

Romans 8:28 Or that all things work together for good to those who love God, who; or that in all things God works together with those who love him to bring about what is good

This verse speaks to me when I went for camp RIUT. Then, I realised how God had been faithful to me although many times I wasn't faithful in following Him. I thanked God that He is ever awesome in my life. In the year 2010, there has been ups and downs, joy and sadness, but all of it happens for my good. :D

I am looking forward for the year 2011. I started the year at 12am with God. Putting all my dreams and hopes in His hand. I do believe it is gonna be a great year for me. A better year ahead to have a better relationship with my good Friend. :D

Christmas is here again. :D One day my friend asked me:

What is christmas to me?

How do I celebrate Christmas?

It got me thinking. Hmmmm, Christmas is definitely more than presents, christmas trees, beautiful lightings, ornaments and good food. After few seconds I told her that WE ARE MALAYSIAN. So, good food is a must.. :D haha.. Even Jesus' times, he loves to fellowship with his friends and family with good food too! :D I guess we inherited the good traits of enjoying good food together with friends and family. :D

To me, Christmas is a time to share the joy, love and fellowship together with your loved ones. Though it cannot be measured by money or scale but we know that how warmth and fussy feelings we have on the inside when we are around our loved ones. This year Christmas reminded me of celebrating Jesus' birthday. :D God's giving to us.

Giving

God had given me so much. He even personally planned all that I have since I was young. I am grateful to have such an awesome God who never fail to give even after Christmas season is over. He continue to shower me with His blessings all the time.

I will continue to learn how to give with a grateful heart. In all ways, His ways is always higher than me. :D

Thank YOU for being gracious granting me life with the life of your son.

SURPRISE!

Another surprise from HIM! haha.. I am so OVERJOYED with the results He had blessed me with. Though last semester had been WOW when I looked back at my schedule. It was crazy. During semester, classes was from Tuesday to Friday. Then, somemore during weekends go to Gerik, Kedah ( oh if you do not know where it is google it k.haha) to help a PHD (not permanent head damage ah! haha.. it's Professor Hopes and Dreams) student to do his surveys with the Orang Asli (Temiar and Jahai) in Temenggor. The drive to Gerik was about 5 hours wei. Don't play play. Plus it was only Stephanie and I who would drive up there. haha. Thank God for His safe hands that guides us all the way there. It indeed had trained Stephanie and I to stay awake for long hours journey. Long hours journey in the end would end up that both of us just shut up and look at the road. Time to time we would ask 'U OKIE?' haha.. It is fun to go on road trips with Stephanie. :D (pssssttttt I do miss Gerik's indian aunty food. Her curry was DELICIOUS. The chinese food at night..emmmm yummmss).

Classes were not merely one to two hours. But, it was 3 hours for a class. Just imagine that everyday your class is 3 hours and then by the end of the class your brain juice is like 10%. Stephanie, Woon Hang, Jin Sia, Mei San, Danny Koh, Anne and I would spend time in the LIBRARY to discuss about our assignments and presentations of our subjects. We spent not 2 hours but almost 4 hours in library. Library was like our tempat tidur d k. With the super cold air-cond in library. Fuuuuhhhh, I never knew how we can survive that long. haha.. not forgetting that during our discussion the one thing ONE THING that will cheer all of us up is FOOD!!! haha.. we will talked when is our makan together nights out which is even more interesting than the topic of subjects we are discussing. haha.

I still could find time to go HOME to be with my family. I am really happy I still could spend time at home to just rest and enjoy the family's LOVE! haha.. :D no matter how far you go, home is still the best place to be at.

All this now is memory full with laughters and joy. I thanked God He had placed me in a community of good friends and a family which awaits to love me when I go back home. Where they will jaga me when they need to.. hehe.. once a anak manja will always be a anak manja. :D

Risk it U-Turn!!

National Conference on 29/11 - 4/12 had been an impact on my life. The theme of the conference says it all. Risking it U-turn. It has been an event full with impact for me. Where do I start?? The days before I went to National Conference perhaps. Before I went for the conference, I had been looking forward to it and praying that God will open my ears to hear what I need to hear. So, my expectation for National Conference was that I want to see the churches and all the denomination come united as 1 under God. I do not know why there was such expectation. I do believe that is my heart desire. Malaysia being a country without color, without race, without religion and all of us ( I mean everyone!!) be united to uphold Malaysia's theme : 1 Malaysia.

During the first day we arrive there were tonnes of people in the lobby of Bayu Beach, Port Dickson. We have international friends from Korea and one from Nigeria too. So, it was cool!! :D By night, when we are in the hall, FES (Fellowship Evangelical Students) staffs : Annette and Kim Cheng had invited us to embrace the Conference. When I told God, YOU r not joking with my expectation huh?? This is what is going to come true and IT HAD ALREADY BEGUN!! I was moved to tears when I see all the students from so many colleges and public universities come UNITED as 1. We sang SATU SUARA which is composed by Juwita Suwito ( can google the song). God is going to move US all of US to 1 Nation for Him.

Throughout the whole camp, I told God I did not want it to be another camp I attended. So, I really listen. Though sometimes it is hard when my physical body is failing me. But, I did listened. Through the morning devotions, sessions, workshops and even talking to people in camp. I REDISCOVERED my heart's desire and passion for the BM speaking groups of people. I realised how much I really love this group of people. Don't get me wrong that I do not love the other language speaking group. I do love GOD's people everyone of them although sometimes it needs extra grace to love some. But, this BM speaking group of people, I want to serve them. It is a great honour to serve them.

Why? It is probably because how God had shown me to love this group of people. Through all the journeys He had lead me He had taught me to love His people. I will be honour when I am given a chance to serve them.

This camp was not an ordinary camp!! It had been a 3R for me. haha.. it is not the Recycle 3R. But it had been REMINDER, REAFFIRMATION, REASSURANCE. I had been reminded on how much the passion for BM ministry. I had been reaffirmed that my place is my country MALAYSIA. The need for me to be a MALAYSIAN first. Saya ANAK BANGSA MALAYSIA. Now, I understand why do I have such a tanned skin color which allowed me to be a BANGSA ANAK MALAYSIA. The Bahasa Malaysia. I now fully understand that Bahasa Malaysia menyatukan kita semua.

Do you understand what does that song means and kept reminding us about. When I was younger, I never understood the song. I felt BM was a waste of my time to study it. But, now I GET IT!! Bahasa Malaysia menyatukan kita semua. Like Spain the country's language is Spanish. Like France it is French!! Why do we spend so much time on studying other people's language when we ourselves could not love our own language!! Our language is the one that marks who we are. Our uniqueness. The quality of this nation. I really learned to love this language when I was at the age of 22. I learned how unique was our language. Only this language allows us to communicate with all the RACES in MALAYSIA. Even friends from international country want to learn our language.

The third thing I was reaffirmed is how much I love working with people and kids. Last time was how much I love animals more than humans because animals do not go around the bush to put flowery words to care about your feelings. Animals just snap and they are straight forward on how they feel. But, I find joy in working with people. The last but not least is my love towards the environment and animals. :D I still enjoy the great outdoors. I still want to stand up for animals rights! I still want to see our country treating animals in a better way. But, in order for that to happen we must work with people. Change the mindsets and their act would follow subsequently.

The third R: Reassurance! I am know REASSURED of my eternal destiny with God. I long to hear ' well done my good and faithful servant! ' During the first session, Dr. Thomas Chung was doing the bible exposition of 2 Timothy. He said this: OUR ETERNAL DESTINY IS WITH HIM! HE HAD ASSURED US THAT. He will be there no matter what ( paraphrase in my own words). Then He said, well done my good and faithful servant. I was moved to tears. I imagined myself hearing that from GOD. What joy it brings. What more can I ask for when He had given me so so MUCH!! He had planned my life since the day I stepped into this world. The place He had placed me to grow up in. WOW!! CRAZY LAR!!! I myself also cannot plan that well. :D

I would love to share the experiences I had gain throughout the whole camp with you. but, if I were to do that, that would be VERY VERY VERY LONG!!! haha.. I would say if ever YOU get a chance GO FOR IT BABEH!!! haha.. you will never be discourage with what you gain. MORE experience the better right! haha.. What more than meeting HIM to a place He had prepared all along before you come. Be a child! Absorb absorb absorb like a sponge. When time comes, then you will still absorb and squinch out what you have to bless others with your life too. :D

Just be prepare. He is indeed full of surprises!!! :D

Mini BBQ nite in philo. Just a few perkebians gather together for the BBQ. On Saturday, two of my indian friends had invited me to go to their open house. But, I forgotten my camera.

The first stop was at Vicky's. One of her friend, Elysha asked how I knew Vicky?? haha.. It was a funny incident actually. Both Vicky and I met each other during BRATS when we were 17 years old. Yes u figured it out correctly in our baju kurung school uniform. Then, the first time we saw each other we just knew we could click and go crazy with. We saw each other from afar. Then, we just waved and said hello. As the day goes by we were placed in the same group. Then, we were crazy and both of us found out that we have common friends form section 24. Chun Ai Wah, Jeannie and Yean Peng.. haha.. That's our story of how we met. Till now we are still as crazy and are friends. :D

We had a great time playing mafia with Diva's (Vicky's younger bro) friends which in the end opt to kill all almost all of us who played with them. They decided to kick out all the old cookies. haha.. The food was of course good. I really like Indian food. So, like this time is my opportunity to gobble all the curry and dessert and cookies.. hehe..It was a good time to catch up with friends.

2nd stop both Jeannie and me went to Malar's place. We celebrated their parents anniversary. Then, we met Malar's childhood friend, Mirashini and her mom. We had a good talk and shared a couple of laugh together. :D It was funny how we started with education-saree-cheongsam-Mirashini's dad. haha..

It was a good day with good people and good times altogether with good foods.

That day when Swe Jyan came over on 21/10/2010. Benjamin, Su-Jian, Swe Jyan and I stayed up whole night and just catch up with one another. It was great to hear stories from each other. (yeah, even Ben, Jian and I are housemates but we rarely do talk since all of us were always on the rush to do things all the time)

So, it was a really great talk. It was a great time to just sit back and listen. Well all of us go through different phases in life. Life is always colourful like how God will color it. :D But, one thing that occured to me is how I am not taking time-out releasing how precious time God had given me. Well, that's something to learn and practice in life. :D

People always ask me why did I do masters at the first place? Till now people still ask me that. Be it from people of different path of life. I always answer that I want to learn more. I want to be whole.

To be whole? I realized that I have been through a lot for this past few months. Moments of learning are always there. Learning to be bold to say no and learning to be at where a person needed the most. To be whole is not only in terms of studying but also to be whole with Him. To be assured that all things happens in His time and He allows incident to happen to shape me.

I am very much still a young Christian where I really really do want to learn more. Although I have always been brought up in a Christian family, but I grew much closer to God when I was in uni. It is through uni that He broke me, He shape me and He reveal parts of His plans for me.

God, I may not be able to see the whole picture. I only can see parts of the jigsaw puzzles in my life. I give my life as a vessel to serve you and God never give up on me. Let all the pieces fit perfectly in your plan k God? :D

Sometimes I do admit that I spend the entire day without doing anything. But, it is not a bad thing. We humans that are created for God need to take time to rest too. We are not machine that can move 24-7 without taking a rest. Even robots need to take rest to prolonged its usage. :D I thanked God that He is a just God which gives freely all the things that we need. Not what we want. That is why waiting for the right time is very important in our life. WE WANT A LOT THINGS but only God knows best what we need in life. :D

As PERKEB comes to an end, we had a session of sharing what we have encounter during this semester. The name I would love to give my God is The God that says WAIT and be patient. For me, throughout the whole semester I have encounter different kinds of events that cause me to learn to wait upon God. Although this subject I had learned it before but now again I am learning again. Waiting. A very simple subject but no many people practice it in their life. Even I rarely practice it in my life.

I learned that when I am waiting God revealed more things for me to see. In this times of waiting, I learned to be faithful in small works. Being the second. Learn to keep trying to keep the commitments I made it with Him. Learn to be thankful in all circumstances. :D Also learn to be sensitive to people's feelings.

Believe it or not I am learning to listen to people. Trying to be observant as I can. All this I am still learning. I am not a perfect human and will never be. I can learn to stand on weakness and strengthen myself in Him. Learning to fall in love with God. Falling in love with another human is easy because it is visible and we usually get an immediate response. Learning to fall in love with God takes time and stillness.

All of the above I am still learning. My words for you will be 'I hope you fail in something that is very valuable to you' - why? Because it is through failures we learn to stand and lean on Him.

Last Monday, my laptop decided to 'die' on me. During that time, so many things was running through my mind. For example, I got my proposal presentation on Thursday which I haven't even finish writing it and putting it in slides. I have assignments which I need to do (I still haven't do). Then, I thought I could not retrieve the data that I had saved in my laptop. So worried that my proposal and all my master's stuffs will be all gone. The amount of time I have spent to do my work and saved it in my laptop. I was so stressed that I have made so many calls and just look at my laptop with a blank mind. I was just stonning. My brain jammed. As all this happened, a thought came in my mind give thanks no matter what happen. My mind was saying how am I supposed to be tankful in situation like this. I thanked God that during the hour my laptop 'died', I finally got a few hours of my back and just sit back and relax (not entirely relax because of the incident). I was able to just relax and laid back. The 2 hours of relaxation is good. It was like a time of finally breath under all the pressure from work. The next day when I sent it to the shop, guess what !!!! My laptop turn out to be fine!! wooohoooo~ hahaha.. The guy at the shop said he couldn't fixed it as my laptop turn out fine. 'boleh on mah' , said the guy. It was great!! I tried switching on with my adapter and battery and my laptop seems to be alright. :D It was good!!! Thank God my laptop is working at its best.

why the picture? hmmmm.. cos when I saw the picture. I remember how He is so awesome to turn something which is gloomy and sad into something so beautiful and cheerful and colorful. :D

Old testament with Kim Cheng

It was a great session. We got to learn how the Old Testaments could be so interesting. As for me, I have never like to read the OT as I always thought it is the most boring part of the Bible. As I have started to read the OT, I realised that the OT stories are so interesting. How God was so closed to His people. How he had revealed himself to them. The relationship God has with his people and He taught us how to relate with each other. Besides that, the timelines make OT more interesting as it gives you a picture about what and when the events had happened during that time.

Many people including me ask the same question. How to read the OT? Read it as it is. Absorb as much as you can about what God is talking to you. Keep TRYING. Dun give up!! Lets make the commitment together to read His words. :D

It's good to have a small getaway every now and then. my mini small getaway is going back home. :D hehe.. yeah I know I stay very near from kajang. 1 hour drive to go home. But, as I drive I will talk to my best friend. :D it is really comforting to know that u have someone by your side all the time.

It is definitely refreshing to just take a break - a time to ponder on some thoughts and a time to seek Him.

I thanked God for a good break. :D and most of all I learned that commitment to God must always come first in your heart. :D and when that is intact nothing and no earthly thing can ever detach you from our Awesome God.

Learning to wait upon Him is a challenge, but the gifts and blessings that He give is truly one of the best that you can accept. :D He will only wants great stuffs and experiences to happen in your life. God will never allow something that is not worthwhile to happen in your life. :D

On 4th of October, my housemate, Kin Onn and Jun registered as husband and wife for life at Putrajaya. I am really happy for them. 2 souls that have decided to spend their entire life together. That's a step of faith to live together as 1.

Yean Peng from my hometown got married to her sweetheart from highschool. So sweet~

Well, it's about time actually. haha..They have been together for about 7 years and I am really glad they have decided to put it in black and white that they will forever live together as 1. It's a daring step and they took it. :D Congrats again!!

Blessing In Disguise

:D I am overjoyed that we sorted things out. The courage that God gave this person is definitely from Him. Why blessing in disguise? Because though the decision we made at first don't seem so right. It turn out to be right one. Though it is a hard way to learn this but I am glad God taught us what we really need to know. Learning in life is a process. And it is through this process that we grow and learn more about the love He gave us.

My awesome God never forsakes me. Even at times when I thought that my plans in my life has been distorted by some hurdles but He came to give me light. He open my eyes to see a bigger picture in life. I am thankful that He is a God full of promise. Remember I said my dreams and hopes were all shattered. Then, it turn out to be a great blessing. God works in miraculous way and surprising way. He is definitely someone u can always rely your trust on.

Life is always not how you look at it. It is more than that. I thanked God that I have found few great friends during my uni life. Great friends. Why are they great? This is because it is through them that I have learned to grow more in love with their Best Friend too. Now, I too have a Best Friend that looks after me. These great friends of mine have always love me for who I am and I am proud to say that they are definitely friends-to-keep-for-life. Learning from each other is the most valuable thing that you can gain through your uni life. That is what I have found.

Now, I am a child who had learned so much and still want to learn and still have to learn at the same time.

Have you ever been in a situation where you think you had it all and then it just stop and you could see what you had in mind is not going to work out after all??

I was there. Turn out to be my ears that were shut and I was not attentive enough to hear what God is trying to tell me. Then, God decided to allow something to happen to hit me real hard on the head. I guess all this that has happened is in the name of teaching me to be a better person.

Today, Matt 6:33 appear and caught my attention as I was looking at my friend's planner. I am glad that verse appear and reminded me again. Let all things happen in His time and by His will.Though I may not understand entirely the great plan God has for me but I believe and trust with all my heart that He is able and He had planned every single details in my life. :D

Learning to leap by faith takes a whole lot of gut and balls!! :P

Waiting and Learning

Now I am currently in the state of waiting. It is really not easy to keep a slow pace in my life. As I look back, I am always in the rush to do things - to try out new stuffs, to go on road trips, making drastic decisions. Pweh ~ my life has always been on the fast lane.

I thanked God that He is taking time to teach me to wait. Just wait and listen. I read Exodus 2 the other day and the one thing that SPEAKS to me is TIME, PLACE, PEOPLE - this 3 criterias are very important in your life. As I am gonna make this decision, I must learn to wait and hear from Him directly. I wouldn't want to rush into things that it is not His will.

As He guards my heart, I want to grow close to Him. I want to learn from Him and what He has prepare for me. For this past few days, I have been thinking a lot. Couldn't really get good resting time during the nights. However, I am reminded by a verse - Do not worry for the birds in the sky He cares for them what more about u. It is true. I shall not worry and just lay my thoughts into His hands.

God is still God.

1 Malaysia

Selamat Hari Raya - Hari Malaysia - Mooncake festival

One festival after another. Everyone is enjoying celebrating all this festivals. I guess when it comes to holiday and foods, we really lived up to the title of 1 Malaysia.

But I have been thinking lately that we should just called ourselves bangsa Malaysia. Not Cina, Indian, Melayu, dan Lain-lain. Then, we will begin to see that eventhough we are different in skin colours, culture and religion but we are still one. One in Malaysia.

Well eventhough now the Hari Malaysia is still very new to the West Malaysian people but not the East Malaysian. I believe it is a good move to acknowledge the day that Malaysia inclusive of Semenanjung, Sabah and Sarawak is formed. :D Bit by bit, probably the concept of 1 Malaysia will be achieved. God has a bigger plan for Malaysia which is so rich in culture and people.

Mooncake festival

For this mooncake festival, my friends and I have decided to cook and enjoy a little makan session together. It was fun. Our menu for the day was: Salsa (tomatoes, mangoes, cucumbers, and tomatoes sauce) and chacos, cheese mashed pototoes with ham, pasta with bolognese, tong yuen with peanut and chocolate fillings, watermelons and longan drinks.

7 long days of break

Short getaway to the Mere Lion City

Haha.. I love the FINE city t-shirt. haha..

For this raya break, I have decided to go back to Singapore with my family to visit my beloved grandma. Although it was a short trip back but it was very much rewarding. We had a great time together over the (jengjengjeng) MAKAN table (what else, we Asian just love our foods especially when it comes to my Grandma's cooking). On top of that, I had a great time learning how to cook from my Grandma. Throughout the process of cooking, she told me how life was hard when she was younger and when the communist wanted to conquer the land. Her Story. She was born in a family of 11 siblings. WOW!! 11 siblings wei. Her siblings were all taken care by different people such as their grandma, or aunties. She and her another sibling were taken care by their Grandma. Since young they have always move about - like a nomad. As she grew older, the communist came and wanted to conquer the land. The times were hard. But my chilli padi Grandma stood strong and persevere despite of her small frame. She had been through so much. My grandpa had passed away. He was a loving man. I still remembered how I always held his hand whenever I go back. Even for a short distance I will hold his hand. The warmth and kindness. :D I miss my grandpa.

IN THE SHOP

I had been spending time at home and in the shop. It was great working in the shop. You definitely will meet weird customers that actually not very sure what they want. Then, very hard to talk to them. Some customers are really good and funny. Some customers will just walked in and say BIASA LAR!! I will be like HUH?? Apa la u mau? Aduiii!!!

Trully the shop it where we as a family find joy to be together and to learn to sabar with each other. With my little nephew running around and having fun while you need to jaga him. haha

It was definitely fun to work in the shop.

Last wednesday, I went out with a great bunch of people. :D the perkebians that didn't go back to their hometown yet for the mid semester break. We went to Midvalley to watch .... STEP UP 3..... woohooo~

If you have what it takes won't you dare to step up? That is the message I conveyed from the movie. The crews are GOOD AND AWESOME!!! Really blows my mind that you can move like that. It's all about how you feel in the inside and you just expressed it.

:D A great and highly recommended movie to watch. The movie is about a cancer boy who only had a very minimal survival rate to survive. It is through him that many are touched and encouraged by. This small little boy had become a great warrior inspiring many to push on and to continue to believe for a miracle to happen in their life. He often talks to God by writing Him letters and he will post it to the postman when he comes to delivers the letters. As the postman received the letters, he kept it. Until one day, he decided to read each and every letters of it. When he read the letters, he realized that the small boy had been talking to God about everyone who is in his midst. Much joy and tears were poured out when each letter is read by the person who the boy has been praying for. This small boy despite its own suffering and pain always put a smile and encouraged his family to talk to God by writing. I like it when he said ' it is just like texting your best friend ', which s very true.

This is not just a friendship built by saying hi and bye. But, it is a true friendship. A friendship which you are willing to pen your thoughts and feelings with your friend. A friend which you had taken time to spend life together. A person who you could say ' I SEE YOU ' (in African language, it means I have taken time and love to understand the real you)

into the jungle

Just realised I had never blogged about the trip I made into the jungle and interviewed the orang asli.
I would say it is a very humbling experiences. Knowing that when you are there in midst of the people with good traditional knowledge and in the midst of all the great animals. For example, the tigers, bears, elephants, wild boars, deers and much more.

I felt that many times we as people who found the ability to go out to the town and built it all up had forgotten that to include them as part of our society too. Many times there are many orang asli who had been treated unequally because they are not the major race and religion in this country. We never had encouraged them to stand up for their rights and fight for it.

Orang asli are people too. They are just like us looking for an opportunity to bloom in terms of their livelihood. WE too look for opportunity to make progress and be better. But we have the access to it. It is not the same for the orang asli. They are lacking of access to good technologies and people who are willing to guide them.

Treat another like how you want to be treated. It is a very easy concept.

If ever you have the opportunity to live with the orang asli. TAKE IT!! it is a very good experience. They are friendly and humble people. Learn from them if ever you have the opportunity.

For me, it isn't. I always tell myself that

Good GRADES are good,

but it is what you do in the end of days matters the most.

Your passion for something speaks louder than any printed documents. Your goals in life are not mere just a few A's or a good 4.0 pointer. It is how you use what you have learned and put in practice in life.

Anyone in the whole wide world could read, memorize and vomit every single things out again. But only a few lived their passions! Never ever let a person put their standards on you on how you should lived by.

So, this is what I will say to all my friends who had just gone through a great journey in your university life:

Ever heard the saying ' never judge a book by its cover'. I bet a lot of you have heard about it, but truth to be told all of us judge all the time. The time when we are driving and another driver just zoom into your lane, you will judge the person right away saying 'hey dun u know how to drive?'

It's a common thing BUT how many of you would want to against the flow of norm?

We are not called to be JUDGE by nature which I thanked God. If we are all judge, the whole world won't be at peace.

let's just practice to be steward and be a blessing upon others..

Feeling a little uncertain today like am I doing the right course or even on the right track. But in all I know He is still in control. I read something about uncertainties in Our Daily Journal today. Why do I need to worry for what tomorrow will bring as today is already too much for me?? have to keep reminding myself in all just lay it in the hands of God and He will lead..

Our peace comes from being confident that God is in control. He alone provides the peace that settles our nerves, fills our minds with hope, and allows us to relax even in the midst of changes and challenges.

June 2nd trip

The 2nd trip I went was Kota Kinabalu, Sabah with my friends from university who were Swe Jyan, David and Su-Jian. We took a flight on the 22nd of June and touched down midnight at KK. When we came out of the airport we saw Raymond, Isabel, and Flora who came and picked us up. They hosted us the whole time we were in KK. :) We stayed at Swe's brother's place. Compliments to the brother. :)

We went for white water rafting in Sg. Kiulu. WWR was cool. The scenery was so beautiful and the cold river water was so nice. It was nice to just swim along the river. The WWR in Sg. Kiulu is just grade 1 - 2. It was not that hard and scary. It was fun going with the crazy bunch of people: Flora, Priscilla, David, Jian, and Swe. The water is not very wild or vigorous. It was just bumpy and fun. Our guide Johnny was telling us that we should try to go Sg. Padas the next time when we come. :)

look at us wei.. so the wet..not because of the river but because of the guide. He kept pouring water on us like we are buffaloes. He had fun doing that to us.

Day 2, Raymond, Priscilla, Flora, Isabel, Jian, David, Swe and I went island hopping. The beach was beautiful. clear blue water and white sandy beach. We went to Manukan island and Sapi island. In Manukan island, we didn't do much. We went to this underwater museum where you can find the bone of the whale and turtles. We only snorkel a little while before we head for Sapi island. We were just trying to get a hang of it. The fish were so friendly. They dare to swim near you when you feed them. haha.. Then, we went to Sapi island where Raymond and Jian did their para-sailing. They had fun being lifted like a kite up in the sky and all of us had fun snorkeling near the fish. We saw some beautiful corals and also the scary sea urchins. But the sad part is all the corals are dying. The sea temperature are rising and killing all the underwater creatures.

Day 3, we went to Kudat. Another tip of Borneo. It is a beautiful place. The beach and the sea view is awesome. The wind was super strong and roaring. Even I felt that my weight were lifted off my feet. We had a great time there. But on the way back one of the car's tyre pancit. Thank God for the guys for being there. They changed the tyre in the rain. Su-Jian even said it was a good experience for him. haha

Day 4, off to National Park. This is where we set feet in to pack up on the carbs and get lots of rest before going up to mount kinabalu. Boy and Flora brought us around in Kundasang, and Sabah Tea Plantation. We makan lunch at about 4pm and then at 8 pm we had a buffet dinner. haha.. Then, after washing up, we played the card game called bridge.

Day 5, the journey up. It was mentally and physically challenging. pweh~ every 100 meter is a achievement!!!! haha.. that's why in my facebook u can see that every 100 meter I take a picture of myself and the post. haha.. The view was awesome and it is definitely a great experience. Going up all the way to mount kinabalu and experiencing first hand the cold weather is something you can't buy. If you ask me again whether to hike up again, I will answer another 5 years k when I have the cash and the stamina. haha..Today, Swe Jyan also balik KL. :)

Day 6, woke up at 2am when we need to hike up to low's peak. So cold wei. I cannot even bath or eat properly. Plus I am so tired after the first half of the hike. So, you go up up and up. My mind kept telling me go go go.. People at home are cheering you on. The moment I reach the peak it is all paid for!!! the view is so awesome and beautiful. On the same day, I hike down too. So the moment I reach the chalet, packed and hike down terus. On the way down, I saw a giant earthworm. Only can be found in KK. It's so huge!!! blue-greyish body. Too bad I didn't get to see the giant red leech in KK. Also get to see pitcher plants. When we got back to National Park, we head down to KK. We slept at Isabel's uncle condo. It is a nice place.

Day 7, woke up with body aches! sakit wei..cannot even stand or sit down. We still keluar jalan-jalan. We went to watch movie - karate kid. It was kinda good. Plus it is cheap watching movie in Sabah. RM 5 for a movie. Cheap huh?? Then, back at the condo we wanted to go swimming but we were too sore to go for swimming. haha.. We also went to Tanjung Aru beach. The beach is very dirty because of dumping of rubbish from another island. So, all the rubbish got floated on shore.

Day 8, we went to makan and then we head off to the airport. Bye bye Sabah. Hope to come back in the future. :)

The trip was awesome!!! with the gang and the crazy peeps I definitely will go again.

June 1st trip

In the month of June, I have been to 2 places. The first one is Bukit Gambang Resort in Kuantan. I went there with my friend, Chin Yee as a children helper. We went to teach the kids about the journey of the 10 commandments. It is really cool! Even the adults themselves finds it hard to remember all the 10 commandments. There are videos on YouTube on how to remember the 10 commandments by fingers. Do check it out if you have time. :)

1 You shall have no other Gods before Me
2 You shall not make idols (2 Gods are too many)
3 Speak God's name with respect (God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit)
4 Keep the sabbath day Holy
5 Honor your father and mother
6 You shall not kill ( Take one finger and poke to the other palm)
7 Be true to your husband or wive ( Only daddy and mummy can sleep on the bed)
8 You shall not steal ( Use fingers to form number 8 which looks like handcuffs)
9 You shall not lie
10 You shall not covet what others have

Even journeying with the kids about the 10 commandments also had taught me to continue to be faithful and to learn to stand by his commandments all the time. There are 2 greater commandments that God had given us which are
1 Love your God with all your mind, soul and heart
2 Love your neighbours as yourselves.

The kids have taught me that even going through their age now is not easy for them. Many times they face so many difficulties but they have no one to turn to to talk to. Sometimes, we the bigger ones be it an adult or a teenager shows bad examples to the younger ones till they are confused what they should do in their life, which is right and wrong. Looking at the world now, what the media are offering to the kids now is really scary. The kids as young as 7 years old knows the hottest songs in the world. What has our world becoming to? They even know the tunes and words to the songs. Besides that, the language and the attitude that they picked up along the way as they grew up.

People be cautious to what you are 'feeding' to your child and to the younger generation. Let's not make more 'rubbish' in the world. Shape kids with a good attitude and also a good personality. Be a good example to each other and always learn to encourage each other to do good in everything that we do.

The month of May has been a great month for me. A month of discovering myself and learning about myself more and also the Creator that had spend so much time on me.

I myself had been to 2 camps in this month. Women of Wisdom camp and also Camp Cameron.

This is also where I learned to accept the color pink. It is not that bad actually. :) haha. Many times we ladies overlooked our own role as a female and also as a helper for the male. We sometimes take charge of certain decisions that the males have to decide because we were impatient to wait for them to think it through thoroughly to make a decision.

After joining this camp, I learned very much that females have been designed by God to be a male's helper and to support the males species. :) Ladies, we are BEAUTIFUL! We are specially made by God and He took extra time on us as He laid Adam to sleep when He formed us. Every details and every aspects of us He has formed it in a special way to create us. The beauty of a lady is not only on the appearance but on how a persons' personalities shapes her. The beauty is from within. So, girls dun be paranoid to follow what is called beautiful by the world. Do not let the world shape you. So what if you are a pear-shaped girl or apple-shaped, the term beautiful has been corrupted in the world till only slim and tall girls are called pretty but not the other. Physical beauty will fade but the inner beauty will always remain till the day you die.

Guys, say good things to your fellow sisters. They need encouragements as much as you do. Ladies, never despise your darling brothers when they give you compliments. They seriously mean it. :)

Our own mummy has played a very important role in our life. They were the first heartbeat that we hear when we are in our mother's womb.Always appreciate your mummy and daddy in whatever you do. Honor them and you will live long on this earth.

Camp Cameron has been great for me. As you have read before this post what I have experience, am awaiting to journey with God and anticipating new hopes and challenges up ahead. Although many things has been learned in camp now it's time to put them in practice. First stop, letter writing. People, I will try my very best to write k. :) hehe

I have learned so much and I have been so blessed with so many friends around me. I am so blessed to have such a great family who are always willing to give their best for me.

The awesome 3 weeks of camp

For 3 weeks from 10/5/2010 to 29/5/2010, I went to a camp organized by Fellowship of Evangelical Students (FES). It was a GREAT camp where I encounter God and seek Him thoroughly. He has really blessed me to go for camp, since the time I had registered for camp cameron. At first I really thought I couldn't make it for camp because of my thesis presentation and also binding hard cover for my thesis. But, He made everything possible, including allowing my presentation to be in the first week of May and there were not much corrections and I could print and bind all quickly. I am very grateful for what He had did.

My expectations for camp were that I will discover myself more and more in Him and also learn about the Bible. He was AWESOME! I learned a lot from camp. Learning to forgive myself about my past and learning to allow myself to receive <3. During the first week of camp, its all about God and self. I learned that His love is hard yet tender. He is the same God yesterday, today and tomorrow. He is a covenant God who keeps His promises. As I go through the first week, I was reminded again and again to receive His love. Let His love set inside in my heart.

During the second week, I learned about redeeming relationship with others, especially with people around me including family, friends and in courtship and also gender. I am proud to say that I have redeemed relationship with family again. Each and everyone of them means a lot to me. Friends, I have learned to speak my mind and allow people to know what is my thought. Sometimes I was still very afraid to voice out because of my language imperfections. Its during Wordilicious Investigations, they taught us to question and to ask and voice out how u feel. It is also during 2nd week where things are much more clearer for me. How intimate we should be with God and all.

During the third week which is also the final week, its more to the world! They are sending us out. After all the discipleship and also the impartations they have poured out to us, they are allowing us to go out and venture out to the world and be a light wherever we are. This week it really confirmed what is my in most desire to work at. I am glad He confirmed it through this way. I am still praying for open doors and God leading His way in my life.

As 3 weeks come to an end, there were much to learn and more to learn in time to come. There was a saying life is a long journey of learning and discovery. I am paraphysing. Now it's the time to act and time to show our true colors. It's time to leave a legacy behind before my heartbeat stop beating.

I am gonna live my dash to the maximum and to learn to count on Him in everything I do. :)

For the awesome 3 weeks, my family are the most craziest wackiest bunch. All funny in their own ways. :) haha..guess i am really missing all of you. D'villians, all of you left a footprints in my life. Thank u for the great memories and the great awesome moments together. :) with all the lame jokes and all the bonding through eating session was memorable. Andeering time especially and not forgetting all our supper fried rice and biscuits and milo session.. haha.. awwww man.. I miss having you people around. :)

Its amazing that how God had actually set and planned everything right for me..I will not be able to be where I am if it is all from my own strength. He definitely knows the best!

As I was finishing up checking my thesis and getting it to go and print, I was amazed how I even managed to finish my thesis. If you would want me to write all over again I wouldn't able to do it without the BIG MAN!
He was the one that gave me ideas and knowledge how am I supposed to write the thesis. But, I am really glad its all finished! The feeling of relieved is AWESOME!

Knowing the years of studies makes me someone strong in my personalities and also in God. I had grown so much that I still have space to grow somemore in Him. Studies is always more than just scoring A's and getting good marks. Its more than that. It molds u into a person that have a principle in life! and you will hold onto that principle wherever you go.

My principle is DO YOUR BEST AND GOD WILL DO THE REST!!
Not forgetting my mummy's nagging did paid off too!! hehe.. Her advices didn't seem to make sense when I was younger but now in everything I do, I will always remember what she told me. :) My family makes a very big impact in my life and they are very very important to me.
They are the first ones in my life secara fizikal. :) To these days, I will say although sometimes they maybe a pain in the neck but they are very dear to me. :)

WOOOOHOOO~ 3 years passed by so fast, but its a good 3 years in uni. This is my turning point and also where I got to once again to know how much God has love me. Never once I regret what He has allowed to happen in my life. Meeting new people is great and getting to know them in person adds on to the joy. Each and every person has add flavors in my life. Like forest gump, LIFE IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES!

Meeting someone always lead to saying goodbyes in the end. But its the precious time we had spent together. Then, I could imagine if the next time we meet up again in the future, we would laugh and laugh on all the silly stuffs that happens around us. haha. I will definitely miss the moments we had together. Because it is that what makes me grow as a person. :) Life never stops there. It goes on and on learning new stuffs and counting on Him.

I learned something very important this semester. Even when you do not feel like doind something just show up. Cause you wouldn't know how you will light up the other person's day. :) And if a person needs help, give all you can. Never make a promise, just say yes and no.

I totally enjoyed my uni life. So for you people out there, even when the going gets tough dun GIVE UP!! PERSEVERE all the way and there is a great reward for you at the final race.

Sometimes standing at the crossroad makes u feel lonely
Have u ever thot if there aren't any plans that u need to make then ur life is so much easier?
Planning for something that cannot be seen and the result u cannot foresee
Maybe it is a hard thing to do

Despites all that, I am grateful that I was never alone in this.
And I do not need to plan it all out
A Big Man had already plan everything in my life for me.
I know this statement to some of u, u may think its foolish
But its totally real for me.

It's not easy to say that "God take control of my life"
Cos we being human tend to take things in our own measures.
God says do not be worry, child.
He is in control.

We still need to play our roles of doing our own research and pray about it.
Talk to people with experiences and seek Him at the same time
Dun forget to pour ur heart out in front of Him. Just be transparent towards Him

Do some of us feel numbed after what had happened? The burning of churches, rumours of the untruths. They are all spreading like viruses attacking every nerves and every corner of your body.

I urged all of u including myself let continue to pray. Stop pointing fingers who is right and who is wrong but pray God will continue to pour His mercy unto this country and His grace to the people. Pray He will wiped out fears creeping unto us and He will continue to be by the side of His children.

We are all His children!! WE are His..all that is contain on this earth are HIS!!! His alone

How will a dad feels when all His children are fighting among each other, hurting each other with our actions and our words. Think about it.

Despite all this, remember God never leave u alone on ur own..

He reigns forever more!!

meaningful scriptures

"Loving those closest to us as well as others in the body of Christ requires a sacrificial spirit that flows from God. It isn’t merely bringing your gifts, it’s being there because of love."

I am encouraged by this today. It brings so much meaning to it. I began to recheck myself.
Has my love flow from God? Have I just been putting myself there just for the sack I feel I am responsible to do so? I hope is not the latter.

Loving someone needs commitments, trust, energy and helpful listening ears and also sometimes we are put there for a reason to encourage the person. Sometimes all you need to do is just sit and listen. That's all. As simple as that but how many are us are willing to do so? Not whether we are able to do or not but whether we are willing to be there o not.

p/s: there is someone who is willing to.. always there ready to listen.. :)
